The thing about Flogging Molly is they're honest. Honesty is. Amazing. They care, they love, and most of all, they play some of the most honest music I've ever heard.

They also have a message for their songs, and this one is especially poignant:

So, now you know about them, you know what they look like. Maybe you're wondering what pairings you could do.

Some suggestions )

I know that after the MCR thing, everyone's kind of feeling wounded, but this here? This is a band who love each other with every single breath they take.

I think that this band is. It's a band that stays because it's a band that loves whole-heartedly.

As Bob said, they're lucky bastards. But so are their fans.

Flogging Molly is a band of interesting proportions. Seven people. Six guys, one girl. The singer and the fiddle player are married.

They're each other's best friends.

They also have this to say:

These lucky bastards are also all pretty smoking hot. And fucking awesome. AW. SUM.

So, on Saturday, myself, my Mom, and my Mom's best friend Cina (who is basically my Aunt, really) drove down to Myrtle Beach. On the way down, it was an interesting ride, for it to only be three and a half hours, I found out that my Mom and Cina are boring half the time and hilarious the rest of the time.

XD

Where there are four things of note: Flogging Molly, Three particular Marines, Syrup, and a trip to the Crazy Horse Gentleman's Club. No, really. )

And as a parting shot, a sign that I caught sight of on our way out of the Grand Strand.

OH MY GOD, YOU GUYS. YOU GUUUUYYYYYSSSSS.

NATHEN FROM FLOGGING MOLLY HAS A SIDE PROJECT. HIS DAD IS PLAYING DRUMS ON IT.

NATHEN IS SINGING ON IT. OMG MY HEART

And wouldn't you know the bastard's not coming anywhere close to NC?

On a totally serious note, what I'm listening to now is amazing. The sound of it is...reggae but it's so mellow and just...nice. Very well done, Nate's voice is a surprise, because I've heard him sing before, yes (he sings on the tracks Sad Cruel Mistress and Queen Anne's Revenge for Flogging Molly), but I've not heard it like this.

I want this to like lull me to sleep. It's amazing.

Nate's Dad is a drummer out in the California and you can actually see him in the Flogging Molly documentary, Whiskey On A Sunday, and in that, you get a feel for how good his Dad is. But the work of him and his Dad on this is fantastic. Like, I'm blown away.

Go to the site, and just...listen. It's beautiful music, it really is.

I LOVE YOU NATHEN

Honestly, my icon pretty much reflects my face right now.
