Of course this would happen.
Earlier in the week, we noticed our washing machine making a funny noise. Mom had just washed her scrubs and some of the drawstrings in one of the pants had gotten caught around the agitator.
So we're all, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, because, y'know, Mom might have crapped up the washer.
Instead, yesterday, when Gramma went to wash clothes, the washer KEPT making that noise and then wouldn't go into the spin cycle. It'd drain the water and then try to desperately spin, but nothing.
My Great-Uncle Bill came down and checked it out, said the transmission had gone out in it, and that replacing that would be as much (if not more) than buying a new one flat-out.
Lovely.
So, as long as we could get the clothes washed, we figured it'd be fine. We washed some clothes, wrung them out and hung them out on our clothesline until they were dry enough to toss into the dryer to finish 'em up.
We go to throw them into the dryer, hit the button. And hear a weird clicky noise.
...The drum won't turn. (Luckily, Great-Uncle Bill CAN fix that.)
But still.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK, LIFE?
