mayqueen517I had...a spectacularly shitty night last night.
Worked a sold out show last night. When a show is sold out, we have to park at a nearby elementary school. That's fine, except that last night, the school was jam packed and I had to park near the soccer field behind the school.
Got out of the show, took the shuttle to the school, climbed into my car, turned the key....annnddd nothing.
Now, at this point, I should tell you that I was one of the LAST people to climb into my car, because I was one of the last shuttle-loads. This place was deserted, I couldn't see over the hill from behind the school...and my car wouldn't start.
Cue freaking the fuck out.
Long story short, I had to call Mom (freaking the fuck out, crying...my normal reaction to shit like that on little sleep) and Gramma to come and pick me up. But I sat in the school lot for around 45 minutes or so, in my car...by myself.
I spent basically the entire time crying because I was freaked out, I was stressed out, and I'd had...maybe 3 and a half hours of sleep for the past two days, so I was already kind of freaked from that.
Came home, ate, showered, crashed. I actually slept for a few hours!! It was pretty awesome.
Got up today, Mom and Gramma went to get the car to try and jump it off. No dice...they don't know if it's the starter or the battery, so we're looking at possibly having to repair one of those. Yaayy. *sighs* (I'm so worried about this. Because FUCK, without a car, i can't get a job and I am so fucked, oh god. I'm so fucking worried, jesus christ, what if it can't be fixed? Fuck fuck fuck.)
And in the midst of this, Gramma hands me a tube and says, oh, this came for you today.
It was a tube from forevernever! I swear to you, my immediate reaction was OMFG TOM CONRAD, HI.
hector_rashbaum had planned on getting me one of his prints for Valentine's Day, and had emailed him (back in February) about shipping to a different address, yadda yadda yadda. It took him like a month to send her a reply and so and so forth.
So today, I GOT THE PRINT. IT'S VERTIGO AND IT'S EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN I'D IMAGINED, OH MY GOD.
That is not the best part. The BEST part is the note that came with it:
YOU CAN SAY THIS WITH ME, BUT OH MY FUCKING GOD, TOM MOTHERFUCKING CONRAD.
