SO, okay. We have a bunch of older coins that we were curious about, right? So, since Mom had the afternoon off, I thought that after lunch, we'd go into Concord, see what we could get for them.

The answer: Not much.

Ah well, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? Well, as we came out of the coin shop and were walking back to the library, I almost stepped on something. Bending down, I checked it out.

We've been looking it up, about the coin from my last entry.

So, we found out that it wasn't stamped, it was actually engraved.

It was made in the 1930s and were then called pocket pieces. They were made of bronze and were traditionally carried around for good luck.

According to this site: ...they are distinguished by the fact that they do not bear souvenir or advertising messages, merely promises of good luck, especially in money matters.

This is, probably, the coolest thing I've ever seen.
