20 random things you may or may not know about me!

1.) I used to be heavily into Boy Bands (the horror, I know)
2.) I was born with a partially collapsed lung and have suffered from asthma ever since.
3.) I'm more often than not lonelier than hell and depressed. The depression frequently has me writing happy events. Go figure huh?
4.) I've never been on an actual date. As in dressing up, being just me and the guy (or girl)
5.) I'm a huge fan of what's known as classic rock now. I just call it the good music LOL. Zeppelin, the older Metallica (and some of the new stuff), Motley etc. Queen is a huge favorite of mine.
6.) I was in my middle school symphonic band that was to date the largest band I have ever seen for 2 years. I played the flute and out of three rows I was fifth chair, second row (consider that there were 12 chairs in each row). We had a huge ass band, 36 flutes, 25 saxophones with a baritone sax and a tenor sax, 7 percussionists, about 30 clairnets with 2 bass clarinets, 2 tubas, 8 euphoniums (mini-tubas) and 20 trombones. And our instructor who taught that many children in 2 different classes how to play all of their instruments and play them well. All the instruments I named my teacher could play.
So in 7th grade we were horrible little brats who thought our teacher knew nothing. So when we came back for 8th grade, something had happened. In the words of my band instructor "I don't know what happened over the summer but they came back and they...were GOOD." *giggles* God bless that man. So for that first concert we played some of the coolest songs known to man. We performed songs that would be my favorites before long (so he's really the reason I got introduced to rock LOL) we did You Really Got Me, and Bohemian Rhapsody.
That man rocks.
7.) I've always been a camera hog LOL. My mom used to tell me all the time that I should have been an actress because I used to have fits, we're talking temper tantrums, where I would become exceedingly dramatic. Sort of a cross between William Shatner and Elizabeth Taylor.
8.) I never had spent the night at someone's house until I was in the 7th grade. My former best friend's father hated me. So when I made friends with this girl in 7th grade I eventually went over to her house; that was the first time I had spent the night at someone's house.
9.) My step-father killed himself New Years Day in 2001 and I blame myself every single day. And I'm also thankful for it. I was recovering from a suicide attempt back in late August of that year. When he came by on New Years Eve I was a total brat. My mom and him had been separated since '97, he had abused me mentally, physically, and sexually. He was an asshole but he wasn't like that all the time. Despite it all he had been my daddy. So when he came by I was a brat cause I felt he didn't deserve any kindness from me. My mom says that he had done this a few times, threatened to kill himself I mean. She had stopped him the times before. So he left and everything. At 4 am he killed himself, and if I had been nice and kept him there to talk to my mom like he wanted he may still be alive.
10.) This is turning into some weird type of therapy. Fuckin' A
11.) I had a chance to go see Robert Plant and Jimmy Page back in 1998 but I didn't go because I was not into Led Zeppelin. What an idiot I was. *head to desk* *cries profusely* My mother met Jimmy Page in 98.....damn I was an idiot.
12.) I hate those commercials that have songs for them....that sound like an actual song.
13.) My god-father used to look exactly like Jon Bon Jovi. When my mother was pregnant with me he would propose to her every time he could so that I would have a father.
14.) I cried when I found out that George Harrison died.
15.) I make icons for people randomly. And I LOVE to do it.
16.) I am the total personification of a night-owl now that I don't have school or a job. (It will only be a few weeks until I get the job damnit.)
17.) I think that I should have been born in the year my grandmother was. I could have witnessed The Beatles on Ed Sullivan, WOODSTOCK (*freaks* my gramma could have gone...), the 80's for some of the bands, and just chilled in the 90s. *giggles*
18.) www.rockfic.com is the first online community that I've felt completely at home and loved at.
19.) My first cassette tapes that were truly mine were The Beatles Greatest Hits, and Elton John A Decade Of Hits 1980-1990
