Sean as a research librarian! The other guys could be grad students/undergrads at his university? Maybe Max has work-study in the library and they're friends?

If you really wanted to run with the idea to a crazy place of ridiculous awesome crazy, you know how Barbara Gordon was a librarian? Research librarian!SVV could be in a superhero universe! One of the Empires boys could be writing his thesis on the new role of superheroes in pop culture or the intersection of more or less sanctioned vigilantes and the law or or or. Bandboys+libraries+living in a world with superheroes, okay, this is where my brain is right now.
