Title: Poets Of The Deed

Summary: Quiet and affectionate, not ready to say anything or ask questions, but just willing to accept an easy moment in what's going to be a busy day.

Victoria watches the buses pull in and park, the parking lot slowly coming to life under banners and tents but boxed in by fences. She's never sure who said it, but whoever said that Warped Tour is like a modern-day caravan was right, she thinks. The bus is quiet, turned off and she can hear everyone starting to wake-up in the bunks. She likes these quiet moments, standing and quietly sipping on a cup of coffee before the day starts.
She hears someone stumble out of the bunks and when she hears him cough, she smiles into her cup, recognizing it as Gabe. He slides up behind her, warm and still pliant with sleep against her back as he wraps his arms around her. Victoria closes her eyes, smiling as she shifts back into him and rests her arms on top of his, letting him tangle their fingers together From behind, he squeezes lightly in greeting, sniffling as he wakes up and he props his chin on her shoulder.
"First few days suck the most," he says, chin grinding into her shoulder and Victoria should shove him off for it, but he shifts easily. He rests his cheek against her head, and she hums in response, not wanting to break the silence of the bus. But he hums back and she can feel him smile as he presses an affectionate kiss to her hair.
"It won't be too bad," she says. He makes a soft noise, pleased almost, she thinks, as he shifts again, pressing a light kiss against her shoulder. Victoria yawns, untangling their fingers and putting her now empty cup down to stretch her arms up to the ceiling of the bus. Her back pops and Gabe laughs softly at it, thumb rubbing over her stomach lightly.
She stretches her arm back behind her, relaxing slowly as she combs through the hair at the nape of his neck. He leans into her, tilting his head to rest against her hair again; and she likes him most like this. Quiet and affectionate, not ready to say anything or ask questions, but just willing to accept an easy moment in what's going to be a busy day.
"It's gonna be good," she says finally, combing through the short hair still, giving Gabe whatever affection he seems to need as he nods slowly. His arms tighten around her, and she tilts her head back, looking up at him and watching him smile lazily. There's a flaky line of drool at the left corner of his mouth and a crease slowly smoothing out on his forehead that leaves her feeling more fond of him than anything.
He smiles down at her, leaning and kissing her forehead, lingering for just a minute before sighing happily.
"It's gonna be fucking awesome."
