I actually didn't meet anyone out until I was...17, 18? Didn't become friends with anyone who was queer in any way til I was 21 and moved to the city permanently (she did pretty much adopt me and taught me much in the ways of the gay, it was AWESOME! I didn't even know we HAD a gay club).

ANd people wonder why I'm SO PASSIONATE about good portrayals of homosexuality in the media. :D
