Well, in a way, I like that you're conflicted! And no, Pete's not fixed, but I feel like...in Ryan's eyes, Pete's fixed. In Ryan's eyes (at least, this era of Ryan, when this was written) Pete's been fixed and he's happy. This was mostly written as an experiment waaayyy before it was posted. (If I had to place it, I'd say sometime after the Honda Civic Tour 08)
And as far as being weird, I don't think it's weird to read into something that was written. I'm glad that it makes you read into things! It means that I did my job, especially considering that I'd never written any of these three before. Like. Ever. (Hell, I've not really written any of them since!)
As I said, though, to me, this isn't so much about Pete being fixed, it's about Pete trying to fix people, because I think that Pete's a guy who wants his friends to be okay. I feel like maybe he introduces them to people in the hopes that he can fix them or something. Maybe I'm the one reading too much into it, hmm? But I think that, for a long while, Ryan probably felt very...unfix-able, and as someone said, most kids get told their teenage angst isn't something to be a special snowflake about. Except that Ryan Ross was told his teenage angst WAS a special snowflake. (And I think, to an extent, Pete has some of that too)
I dunno, like I said, I'm weirdly glad it left you conflicted! (And obviously, I don't mind swapping theories)

And I'm glad you liked it, at the very least.
